feck me, the server seems to be crawling today. I think you could almost have a cup of coffee between pages !

Anyone else noticing a slow feckthat today ?

i iv contered it by having many pages open on the site and work of the others whille they load

well the response for register365 was that someone is doing a backup and that they can't guarantee a fast server. For that you need to get a dedicated server. So maybe I need to look into a VPS : Windows or Linux VPS hosting with plesk - debian,ubuntu,opensuses,centos - virtual servers - virtualisation (http://www.blacknightvps.com/vps-basic.html) or Hosting365 - Hosting Solutions - Servers (http://www.hosting365.com/hosting_solutions/servers)

7 isn't an unreasonable loadavg for a server -- for the traffic we get it's hardly worth upgrading!

hmmmmm. Maybe it was just my gut reaction after getting off the phone with that guy. I think there are some sites that you can check the server ping time, I will give that a short and see how slow we are going. Right now it seems fine again.

Ping is more a measure of the network latency (well, that's exactly what it is!) -- a ping response is generated by the networking stack without going anywhere near the application layer
