i have always found it strange that women wear make up to the gym. there id be sweating buckets and bright red and then youd have one or two in their "leisure" suits in full war paint.

I find it strange when diesel is more expensive than petrol at the pump. especially as it should always be at least 6 cent cheaper no? duty and what not. and why dont we complain about it?

and what i find really weird today is the nail gun. there is one being used out on the boardwalk. i can see its purpose and christ knows yer man has a thousand nails to be putting in place but it just kinda scares me. as in id much prefer to have an accident with a hammer rather than a nail gun. like what kinda concept makes somebody think of marketing something as a tool, but it will also kill somebody.

I was curious about the second one, apparently from here (http://www.petrolprices.com/why-diesel-costs-more-than-petrol.html), a british site but probably close enough for here

...diesel isn’t actually as cheap to produce as some people think, at least not the modern “clean” variant anyway. Although diesel requires less crude oil per litre than petrol does to produce, newly established standards for lower sulphur diesel require a more complex refining process. Despite these reductions in sulphur emissions, standard diesel fuel is still taxed more heavily than petrol.

They also say that since there's a smaller market for diesel there's less competition.

From another site, apparently there's also more freight being moved around the country in the few months before Christmas than any other time of the year and since most of that is by truck, this pushes up the price of diesel (as the demand increases)

I'd wear a bit of make-up to the gym, to be honest. Exercising makes me look ugly enough, there's no need to compound it by having no make-up on! A bit of mascara never hurt anyone...

but would you not sweat it off? mascara maybe fair enough but people in foundation and sweating and skin trying to breath! they must all be a damn sight fitter than me

Yeah, I probably wouldn't wear foundation. Tinted moisturiser, maybe ;).

Let's be honest here though, I don't exactly go to the gym often!

I guess some people are very vain and would be mortified to think that someone would ever see them without the warpaint. I wonder do you have to get special stuff that is sweat resistant for them gym.

I dunnooo.. sometimes I don't take my makeup off before going on teh rowing machine and my it doesn't run or anything.
That said, I will put eyeliner on before I go to the co-op or similar.

In England, most petrol is now over ONE POUND!!

I wouldn't ever wear makeup to the gym, but only 'cos I couldn't go to the gym without a swim afterwards.

Diesel is more expensive over here in england, and according to my other half (who likes to make sweeping statements but can usually be relied upon!) it has always been so!

my housemates are hitting the gym pretty hard at the mo in UL, i dont get it, she wears make up then comes home glowing red, like brilliant i say, you worked your ass off, so what was the point of the make up! the other lad just gets his shorts and tshirt on and barely breaks sweat but then again he is a kinda semi professional athlete. we scrum in the kitchen sometimes. when we arent doing line outs.

weird also. the cups in my house just keep going missing and when the only person it could possibly be is asked about it he looses the head. like we did see you go upstairs with a chopping board so WTF?!?

Since I've started going more regularly, I don't wear my make-up if I go from my flat. If I go straight after lectures or whatever, I can't help it.

I was there last week, dressed in little shorts and a crappy vest-top, sweat pouring off me, when a guy I fancy walked past. CRINGE!
