View Full Version : holidays
All this nice weather has me thinking of hols. Anyone got plans this summer to head off and kick back? I'm all organised it's 3.5 straight weeks, at the end of June. Boston / NYC / Greece (with easycruise).
I'll probably be in California for June, July and August. Or Florida, if I have no other choice.

i hope to be goin away somewhere in europe, i think i have tickets for a sold out festival but the site i bought them off has a strange way of doing business. and its the official site for the music festival in europe they just do things different then most ticket sites i've used.
that sounds cool pablo. you poor thing Faith, however will you get over that. we are all here for you ;-)
well when i took this job i was kinda told we are going to be flat to pan all summer and you cant dissappear for three weeks. i think i might get away with one week perhaps or a thursday to wednesday job perhaps
Faith : Florida isn't that bad, granted it will be hot and humid and sticky, but I've heard it can be nice. But you right, it's not CA, I spend a summer in San Diego on a J1 visa.
Happy JJ: Sometimes you just have to do these things yourself to get them done properly !
TOT : What festival ? Is it in Germany ?
DHBH : That's the problem with starting a new job, they don't really want you to take hols. That being said I am in the search for a new one right now !

Oh, DHBH, you have no idea. My travelling companions have completely flaked on me at the last minute, leaving me essentially stranded in California on my own. I'm no longer friends with the others going to CA, so it looks like now I'll have to get down on my knees and beg them to allow me to go with them. Humiliating to the extreme!
That other option is spend about $600 and get return flights to Florida, to go to a place I don't want to be, a tiny retirement town where there's 1700 inhabitants with a median age of 56, and no chances of employment. I'd have to travel 15 miles by bus every day to get to the nearest city for work, then 15 miles back.
Or, of course, I could do it by myself, but accommodation is hard to find and really expensive when you're alone.
ah that could be a balls alright. id still love to be going on a little adventure

thats good cos so far we're going to Boston with prospects of gainful employment and no roof over our heads. fun times
Ah, you still have a few weeks to find a house. I assume you've been using craigslist.org right?

You will have no problem finding some dump to live in...especially because there will probably be quite a few students gone for the summer with 1 year leases needing coverage. Look in areas such as: Allston, Brighton, Cambridge, and Brookline for stuff like that.
What type of work are you looking for?
@Faith, sorry I can't help with the Cali thing though...:o
