View Full Version : If you could choose to foresee the rest of your life, would you?

So, if you were offered the chance to see what happens in the rest of your life, would you do it? You'd potentially find out if you get married, when, to who, if you have kids, whether or not something awful happens (loved one dying tragically, you go to prison), how and when you die, etc.

Would you want to know it all now? I assume everyone's immediate response would be "NO!", but think about it. If you saw something horrible, it would then presumably be in your power to change it. So, would you?

Definitely No, they do this stuff all the time in movies...like The Butterfly Effect (which I think we have a thread about).

If you go back and change one thing, you would change the rest. Like I can for the most part recount the things that have put me where I am now, and if I had changed one thing, everything else up to now would certainly have changed.

Exactly! But maybe it would be like minority report... life as related to films

Life is complicated enough without knowing what is going to exactly happen at every moment in time. Talk about information overload ! A no vote for me.

I'm not talking about "knowing exactly what's going to happen at every moment in time", I mean more like a brief overview of the major events that are going to take place.

I want to know.. the more details the better. I'd happily read the last page in the book.

Ok, still my answer is no...the major events are what life's really all about! :)

has anyone ever gone to a fortune teller?

pablo

Nope. Well not a real one anyway. These people just pray on poor desperate people who are looking for the answers in life or to hear from a dead person etc. I wouldn't piss on a psychic/fortune teller if they were on fire.

but what do you really think?

sorry mairead ? maybe that came across as harsh. I don't think anyone can see the future or talk to dead people/souls. How come they are not all winning the lottery every week !

i think i would ask certain questions that just took out some uncertainties. some frivolous and some serious. lets say just to ask would i see 60 and would i die of a long and painful disease. would i always be skint and would there be a time my car wasn't first registered when i was in primary school
