Just read this interesting article on young women donating eggs (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17216857/from/RS.5/)

Considering the emotional, ethical, and financial issues...would you do it?

I would do it for the cash and the feeling of helping others...but considering I HATE needles and all that, I wouldn't. I don't think the feeling that "my" baby is out there would be a factor that I would be upset over.

...guess I will have to start saving cash like the rest of the world...;)

Apparently it's a bloody uncomfortable procedure...:( Other than that, it would be a handy way to make some dosh.

Yeah, according to the article donors have to give themselves the shots!!

I think you inject it into the tummy... like insulin shots.
Generally unpleasant by all accounts... There are lots of other ways of getting money and that's before taking the emotional imact into account...

i think i would donate but dont know if i would accept if i wasnt fertile when the time came etc.

both. i'd like to believe if it were a thing i wasnt able to have kids that i would give an existing orphaned child a second chance at a family through adoption, rather than bring another one into the world after putting my body through a lot and naturally a lot of money would have to have been spent on the procedure

haha neenee made me laugh outloud in the most strange office i have ever had the displeasure to know of. funny girl.

i remember seeing a programme about irish couple that were going down this route and after something like €20 they still werent "pregnant".

then theres the route of implanting your own egg in surrogate yeah? it gets complicated. same programme followed a couple that did that. their friend had like 5 kids and thought shed be ideal, but at end of the day the fertilised egg of the couple still wouldnt take in their friends uterus.

thats a whole lot of heartache. when you can just adopt instantly guaranteed good looking kids from parts of the world. yes i am shallow. but i just think asian women no matter what part are stunning.

i think it's a very personal issue, everyone thinks differrently about it. and opinions can change when you're faced with a particular situation.
