Just read here (http://www.tomrafteryit.net/corks-bodega-bar-sold-to-be-closed/), that the Bodega is set to be closed and reopened as a shop ! It was bought for €7million ! It's planned to close this Friday, 9th of Feb. !

That's terrible! Mind you I was in there one Wednesday night and I think we were the only ones in there... it was always busy at the weekend though

I remember the last time I was in there we were discussing that although the high ceilings are lovely, they must translate into an enormous waste of space if you're actually trying to make money from the place. There's going to be no pubs left for us old people to go to any more...

ah here. many a sunday i went for brunch there with the sunday times and now there are no sundays left. ah thats very sad. i was there maybe 15 times in 3 years but im still sad! explains the people crying outside sir henrys the night they knocked it

The Bodega has been the place I go for coffee and the occassional lunch since I was 15! The place means so much to me! Everyone I know assumes they'll meet me at the Bodega when we meet!

i take it you wont be back before it closes. the thread on boards dot ie is fairly comprehensive but read all the way to the end before tearing your hair out like i almost did

i never really liked the bodega. It felt kinda cold and snobby. It is a shame its closing but i wont miss it really

ya same never liked it like the green did not mind up stair but only been there a hand full of times.
