View Full Version : Today FM, Ray Foley & the gang
I have found I'm addicted to today fm at the moment.
I wake up to Ian Dempsey... not a fan of Ian but the gift grub stuff is brill and the news and sport and stuff.
Then I'm defo part of the ray D'Arcy fan club/cult. It's just so funny and they cover loads of stuff on it.... like a little family.
I was a fan of Ray Foley when he did the blast. I love the new daytime show and often laugh out loud at it.
I turn off Tony Fenton... a bit too "whey hey hey" DJ for my liking...
I have reached an age in my life when I pay pension, tax, a mortgage and find current affairs interesting. I listen to Matt Cooper on my way home and when I'm cooking dinner.
Tom Dunne plays great tunes... as he says himself "turns his nose up at commercial music!" I really like the stuff he does.
it's gets dodgy after that then.
Even at the weekend I like Alison Curtis's show, the 80's show on a Friday night and I'm afraid I have to confess I have listened to the Martin King show on a Saturday morning follow by the very last word while I'm in bed.... And If I'm driving someone early onthe Sunday I do listen to the business and current affairs programs.
From this I conclude:
a) I have far too much time on my hands and listen to the radio too much
b) I have a bit of a pathetic existance because I often start a conversation with "you know what I heard on the Ray D'Arcy show yesterday"
b) I should get a Today FM tatoo on my bum cos they have me whipped
Anyone else agree that Today FM have got it right and the best of Irish DJ's at the moment?
yup i agree my phone with all its gadetiness has ray d'arcy on right now. they're on about the new age she males of the workplace.
i was trying to warm up to ray foley but it didnt happen so i have left him off. he was saying yesterday or something how that igelesias person looks like him. riate...
radio in mornings till 12 and then i just float about in my own head.
oh you have to give Ray foley a chance. He's an arrogant pain in the ass but that's the whole point. It's hilarious! He takes the piss out of himself the whole time AND "It's only a bit of fun at lunchtime... nothing too serious like"

ray foley is the best thing on the radio, d'arcy an the gift grub are great too. I used to listen to 2fm all the time but that has nothing to interest me now, oh an they totally copied the gift grub from what i've heard in the mornings with a sketch show type thing.
Copying isn't the worst thing in the world. If they're coming up with something clever and funny it might even be described as good! (I haven't heard any of it now mind...)
i did a bit of research to see if he really looked like iglesesese whatever, and found a pile of websites saying he was a wanker because peole were discussing him on boards.ie and naturally some people didnt think he was god greatest gift so he mad them delete the posts as he had an account there the whole time. ah hearsay....

Ah, I remember that. Funny stuff! He was a wanker on boards alright, and when people got tired of him, he posted in his blog about how everybody (all 75,000 of them) who use boards are all fat, spotty, teenage losers (or something along those lines). He was banned anyway, and a mere mention of his name causes people to get riled up.

Maybe if we go on about RAY FOLEY IN TODAY FM enough he'll join and post! I'd say he is the type of guy who googles himself regularly and also runs a search on google. (And still i'm a fan....)

I'm with Mairead on this one, I very rarely tune my radio off Today FM. And while he may be a bit of a nob he is at least an entertaining one. I liked the evening show too when it was on.

if anybody listening today did yer man really do the bungee jump? if he did it was the quickest jump and recovery back onto a platform i have ever seen/heard of.
thank you for clearing that up i had a meeting just after so missed the rest. whats the point in doing it then. thats just sad. i hope he wasnt after collecting for charity for real?

that was the fakest and funniest thing ever, i doubt he even went to the top of the crane thing they had set up for the bungie.
did ya hear the guy on foley asks questions quiz, he was such a knob(thats the best word to describe him) i actually had to turn off the radio cause he wa so annoying. he wouldn't answer any of the questions or even talk normally.
ah sure everybody wants their 15 minutes of fame
for some reason, this thread is getting a few views from people searching "ray foley wanker". Thankfully we are not the top site for this phrase !
i cant get today fm to play on my computer through windows media player so have dragged a few tunes off my mp3 instead. any other place i can get to listen live to radio stations, namely 2fm and today fm? it used work but not anymore and they arent on the WMP radio tuner at all.

today fm online. (http://audio.todayfm.com/todayfm3.asx) works for me through media player anyway
that used work for me but alas no more.
Windows Media Player cannot play the file because a network error occurred. The server might not be available. Verify that you are connected to the network and that your proxy settings are correct.
DHBH, if you are trying to connect to it via work then they may have it blocked.
hmmm, i wonder why they didnt block everything else then! bebo, ebay, hotmail, my porn sites, child trafficing, etc. i get bored at work.
would it work on a proxy server i wonder. like hidemyass.com etc? must try.
