i nearly agree with vicky's version.
I'm a little teapot, short and stout
Here's my handle, here's my spout.
When i get all steamed, hear me shout.
Tip me over and pour me out.
I wonder what I've started !
I wonder what other nursery rhymes are different in each others head.
im telling you its pick me up! if u tip it over that sounds as if u have spilt it. in all fairness when u are really using a teapoy what do you do, you pick up then pour, not tip over then pour! when i think of the millions of scalded children!
Yes! [we already argued about this last night] Someone agrees with me! Oops just realised I never posted my original thought that I thought you were agreeing with but basically dhbh is right
so how come the pick me up isnt a verion to vote for then? tut tut! u go with the when im ready rather then boiling or steaming version too yes ciaran?
were ye like...babysitting or something guys? i kinda hope so!
it's
When the tea is ready hear me shout.
Pick me up and pour me out.
see now i am thinking is there tea in my version? after reading all the others ones before singing my one and doing the actions at work i cant decide if it would be the same version had i not read all the others ones first!
but it definitely is pick me up!
i cant actually think of the complete versions of any other ones really....cough twinkle twinkle little star how i wonder what u are, up abopve the world so high, like a diamond in the sky, twinkle twinkle little star..........three bags full

At least as far as Playschool and Bosco was concerned!
I'm having problems remembering the actual first part of the third line. It could be "when the kettle's boiling" or "when I get all steamed up". It's DEFINATELY "tip me over", though!
Where is this "when I get all steamed up" coming from????
It's "when the tea is ready" without questions at all...
It's definitely "pick me up" as well. This is very controversial indeed!
are u all trying to say my mammys is wrong! take ur fancy play schools and shove them......out the windy! mammys version is correct! when im ready and pick me up! damn u pablo! look at what u have done
Let's let Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I%27m_A_Little_Teapot) have its say!

Teapot wars!!! \o/
Damn right, I got called a teapottist already. Apparently now, everytime I touch a teapot, somewhere, a kitten dies.
I just asked three of my friends to sing it, and NONE of them could even remember that there were two more lines after "here is my spout". Sasanaighs, eh!?
Mairead's bang on kids. I dunno where this "steamed up" thing is comgin form. That's very weird.
when i read this poll last night i couldn't decide which one it was, now i definitely have no idea!!!
i must say though the "steamed up" thing never appeared in my version.
happy joy joy

never mind.......
Naaahh what! It's blatantly
I'm a little teapot, short and stout
Here's my handle, here's my spout (*does handle and spout actions*)
When I see the teacups, here me shout
"Tip me up and pour me out!"
nope mairéad has it on the nose, when the tea is ready
okay so i went home and asked my sister who said when the tea is ready, so im beginning to think thats what i would have said too as we are all from same clan but then we asked mam! oh lads did we laugh! if any of ye have met my mum ye should laugh ur socks off
Im a little teapot short and stout,
heres my handle and heres my spout
if you want a cup of tea all you have to do
is pick me up and pour me out!
my mammy, the langer!
Why thank you Ciaran! I'm so surprised at the number of people I've asked who don't have a clue! They can't remember it at all. But those that do remember have agreed wtih me on the "when the tea is ready."
That one doesn't even rhyme Meadhbh!
its maedhbh! pft! and thats the whole point twas funny!
ciaran i thought u said i was right. durty!
well i was more right than anybody else and the mairead polished it for the verse like! i was alomost right first! please dont take this from me! argh!
I think the point is we were all right and everyone else was wrong!
TWISTY twisty wordy words! ill win the next one outright! mairead may have one this time but you can fault my mary had a little lamb, his fleece was blue and gold, and everywhere that lamb went john leahy was sure to score! oh yeah!
Nobody I ask can remember the third line!

Yeah I've asked SO many people who dont even know there is a third line, it's rather disgraceful!
One friend of mine tried to pretend that there was no third line.
Her version went:
I'm a little teapot, short and stout,
Here's my handle, here's my spout.
...Tip me over and pour me out.
I had a whole row of people doing the actions in a lecture today! It was hilarious!
Yo, muthas,
Tea pot is in da house,
toiling and boiling,
tipping and dipping,
straining the leaves,
ain't getting no heaves,
ain't got no Earl Grey,
cause I blew him away.
The Notorious Short Fat Teapot. From a friend :D
I kind of slur the last line, I had to go ask my mum.
Btw nice one Pablo.
Right, I finally got definate confirmation of my version. It's:
I'm a little teapot, short and stout;
Here is my handle, here is my spout.
When the water's boiling, hear me shout;
Tip me over and pour me out!
Naaahh what! It's blatantly
I'm a little teapot, short and stout
Here's my handle, here's my spout (*does handle and spout actions*)
When I see the teacups, here me shout
"Tip me up and pour me out!"
I agree with lina on this one!
Lads leave it go....
It's
"when the tea is ready, hear me shout,
Lift me up and pour me out."
Plain and simple... end of discussion.
Although I must say I looked at a nursery Rhyme book in a shop and it said some onther ludicrous version....
Ludicrous is the only word Mairead. You should write a strongly worded letter to the publishers.
The debate continues....
Maybe we need to establish a committee.
Did I spell that big long world correctly? I doubt it.
No need for a committee Paul... I know I'm right ;)
