View Full Version : Hallowe'en : What are you doing ?
Just being nosey and wondering what people are up to tonight. Anyone partying and dressing up, or planning to stay at home and feed the kids who knock lots of cheap sweets ? I don't have to worry about kids knocking because the Germans don't really celebrate it.
Me I'm off on a bus drinking tour around Munich and I will be dressed as a Monk

At least I have Wednesday off, as it's All Saints day and the Bavarians are pretty catholic and have a church holiday then.

And if anyone has some free time today and wants to read some scary stories , you can do so via googlebooks [here (http://books.google.com/googlebooks/scarystories/)]

For the first time in years, I won't be getting dressed up to go to the Freakscene Halloween Ball! I'm quite sad and nostalgic about it. Last year, it was only Niall and I* who were still up for it, and since he dumped me in the between-Halloweens time, I'd have to go on my own this year, and that doesn't really appeal.
I'm giving an applied maths grind tonight - it's scary cos it's my first one, but it's just not quite the same...

2005. Not a great picture - I was Little Miss Naughty, he was a giant Duff Beer can
This was us the previous year:

Poor shot of me, as Nemo (of Finding fame) and Niall as the milk carton from Blur's coffee & tv video
This is turning into a total nostalgia fest for me.
2003 - Niall as hula hoops, with me as Xena, warrior princess

That's a great idea! I wish I'd thought of it earlier. I'm in work, and going straight after, so I'll have to make a costume out of handy office equipment. *looks around, sees piles of paperwork, pencil holder, calculator, more piles of paper and an apple* It could be challenging. Any suggestions??
PS If it helps, I have three different colour highlighter pens.

Rocky Horror Picture Show apparently! \o/
claire.h have you a scissors ? You could always rip random pieces of clothes off yourself.
I'm so excited about my bus trip and the impending hangover tomorrow !

No, I don't have a scissors. They took it away from me the last time I tried to follow advice like that.
[hijack] I just noticed both of us said "a scissors", in Britain, it'd be "a pair of scissors" or "some scissors". I've always found that interesting, in a trivial way.
re scissors : I blame the Germans for all my language problems, but at the same time I can speak another language.
You could always mummify yourself in selotape (duct tape would be even better) ! Or you could go as a big postit note, lots of yellow sheets over you ;)
Well, I dressed up as a witch (and looked fantastic, if I may say so myself), but my Hallowe'en sucked. We went to a massive party in this really old, gothic Student Union, but it was just too packed to be fun. And my feet hurt :(.
Bus trip was interesting. But not having a toilet is a serious disadvantage ! So it was a trade off between "all you can drink beer" and "all you can hold in one bladder full beer". 2 hours in an open top bus with only 4 CD's also led to the party getting a bit boring. But it was fun none the less, dodging branches and bridges as we were driven around Munich. :ghost:
