The second episode of this season is just so much fun.
The sear panic on the crews faces is great.
Plus It shows just how bad ass Adama is when he attempts to get his crew back.
Plus The Doctor is on fine Form.
Sci-fi can be kinda boring and pointless.

Have to say I prefer Sharon to Number 6 (even though I'll agree 6 is hotter). But Sharon's character in Season 2 has been totally taken in a new direction to Boomer's in Season 1 and it's fecking class!

Yup the second episode is just one great big Run for it moment.
Love the appearance of the Pegasus. And there way of keeping the Cyclons from getting into new bodies is just excellent.
Also Could Apollo be developing a deathwish?

The second episode was good. Those feckin Cylons. Murderin all round. Apollo seems to have redeemed himself, a bit, with the XO, or is it it Ex-O.
Jack B. Badd
22-01-2006, 00:56
I've never seen it written. You'd probably just write Executive Officer. Ex-O sounds like some kind of mint or chewing gum or something.
im fairly sure it's written XO

Ex-O sounds like he was formerly an O, as in ex-girlfriend. But dunno in this series.

Oh. Hurry up tomorrow night. I'm sad. But I like this programme. The space combat scenes are good, but it's a pity the scenes inside BSG are so dull, and enclosed.
Jack B. Badd
24-01-2006, 22:58
I mentioned to my aunt and uncle (who are big into sci-fi) that the new BSG was about the best thing on tv these days and I got such a look of disgust! Apparently they've only seen the original version. :(

haha buddy got the box set no more week to week crap for me. now how fast can i watch a box set?
Jack B. Badd
25-01-2006, 04:30
I watched the first season in 3 sittings and then slowed down for the first 10 episodes of the second season (had to make it last) - took about another 3 sittings to watch. Say they're 50 minutes long, multiply by the number you've got and timetable in toilet, food and (if you need them) sleep breaks.

25-01-2006, 05:44

So? I saw the first series too. Lorne Greene was Commander Adama. And where did you get the second series on DVD? I want it.
Jack B. Badd
25-01-2006, 21:05
According to them the original version was crap and they were appalled that I was watching anything related to it. I haven't seen any of the original yet but I've heard it was pretty bad. Borrowed season 1 dvd from one mate and got season 2 dvd from another. But the season 2 stuff was just downloaded from the net. Watchable tho.

25-01-2006, 22:24
The first series (1970's) was good for it's time. Shite now. And as far as I remember the robotic Cylons could speak. In a mechanical computerised mono-tone type voice.
Jack B. Badd
26-01-2006, 04:05
Thats the problem with lots of sci-fi, it gets dated. Doesn't mean its not watchable tho. You just have to take it with a pinch of salt :D
Jack B. Badd
27-01-2006, 21:27
Just saw Resurrection Ship part II and Epiphanies last night. Thought Resurrections Ship was great!
I did think that it was a bit odd that Cain called off the assasination on Adama cos I thought she'd order it and then her XO would refuse or something. But the bitch is dead now anyway so Hurrah!
Wasn't too happy with Epiphanies though.
They made a massive fucking deal out of Roslin dying of cancer especially when it came to the prophecy and then a the last minute they cop out with a "miracle" cure! I mean, I know Gaius would have fucked things up within about 5 minutes of assuming the presidency but at least it would have been a laugh to watch! So is Roslin not the prophesied "dying leader" thats supposed to lead them to Earth or what? Also, why the hell aren't they looking for the number six model they know is onboard one of the fleet's ships?! It's more than a little strange. What the hell was the deal? :maad:
Mark Hall
28-01-2006, 07:30
I quite liked the fact she called it off.Just love the moment when tigh coped what was about to happen.I Also quite like the Starbuck walk to the bridge.
The only problem with Gina Pulling the trigger is that it's a little to neatly ties up the storyline. But hey what ya gona do.
RSII was just nicely played. The battle being the subplot was a nice touch.
I also liked the fact that the Blackbird was taken out by a raider just flying into it. Glad to see it didn't become a convient Plot device.
See why I'm thinking Apollo may be developing a Death wish.
Plus what's the real reason Six has left Giasus.
The Miracle cure was a nice touch but now the question is "What else can it Heal? They could help a lot of folks out in a fleet that gona try restart the human socitey.
The place where Gina is being kept is actually a Brothel.
Not sure what they pay with?
Jack B. Badd
30-01-2006, 01:38
Brothel, eh? I was wondering why it was looking so swish for a rebel hq. Gina assasinating Cain was definitely too neat a tie up but it still didn't bother me as much as the miracle cure. The way I see it they can go 2 ways from here - either they just kinda ignore the plot "problems" Epiphanies created or there'll be a twist coming up soon. Personally I'm hoping for the latter and I reckon given the good storylines we've seen so far thats what we'll get.

had really lost interest in this show and the only reason i watched it this year was because it was on after stargate but tonites episode(on 31st jan) has got me back loving this show. it better have a good ending and they better reach earth like they did in the original series.
Jack B. Badd
01-02-2006, 21:35
I really couldn't see them not reaching earth. Now this is a bit worrying: Battlestar Galactica and Mormonism (http://www.michaellorenzen.com/galactica.html)
the outlaw torn
01-02-2006, 23:55
i had a cool idea where they reach earth and its like the future and they are more advanced then the people on the battlestar, or another idea i had was after watching some show about scifi with interviews from battlestar and stargate since they are made by the same company on sets next to each other, the idea was that when the battlestar reaches earth they are greated by sg1, that will never happen but how cool would it be. i have way too much time to think about such nerdy things.
i wouldnt mind seeing them reach a destroyed earth like azimov's in in the robots series
Jack B. Badd
02-02-2006, 05:02
In the original series they got to a Wild West planet at some point. It was apparently cringeworthy. I couldn't see Galactica in the Stargate universe without having run into Goa'uld somewhere along the way.

Is that in relation to Scar? There are no implants in Starbuck as far as I know unless you're talking about The Farms. Did you see that? It was when Starbuck was back on Caprica.

They were playing with her Ovaries. They like some good Breeding stock.
Then again there are folks out there who reckon Humans and Cyclons can't interbreed without the LURVE factor. That how Boomer and helio succeed.
Loved Apollos vist to the lady of the night. And the whole Charging him extra because he spent the whole night.
Plus the who I Gave you a fair deal exchange.

I totally didn't understand that love rubbish with Sharon and Helo. It's the only wishy-washy bit in the whole (exceptional) show. Or maybe I'm just that bit too cynical...
Mark Hall
14-02-2006, 19:53
There was some nice Wishy-washy between her and the Chief. When ever they wheren't fracking the brains outa each other.
Then Adama put the ki-bosh on that. Which was a Shame.
I really do love the chief but nothing ever goes well for him.
Has to dump his bird after the Bomb trouble. Gets abandon on a hostil planet. Watches his buddies die there. Gets rescued to find out his ex has shot Adama and is a toaster.Gets nearly killed by Blatar. Toaster dies.
Gets his toaster back only to find it has been sexing someone else for a while and is now up the duff. Acccidently kills a bloke. Gets arrested,Beaten, Sentenced to death.
Released after nearly causing a fight between the two human ships.
Has his hobby ship destroyed and still ain't got any not even while under arrest.
When's it gona be Chiefs Day in the Sun? When?
I'm now two weeks behind on my Galatica watching. Stupid lack of Dvd's.

Last nights episode was the best so far. Bloody good. That Roslin is getting pretty shook looking, and Boomer cuter. And Adama has seen sense, and now wants to re-unite the fleet. Getting better. Poor StarBuck, all mixed up now with her feelings for Apollo, and that freedom fighter on Caprica.
Mark Hall
17-02-2006, 06:24
Yup Boomer Look real Cute when Apollo Picked her up and slammed her into the wall with a Gun in her Face.
Just the Sheer Emotion of that scene was Excellent. To see Apollo go from Sheer Joy to Hate in a heartbeat.
Plus The Cylon raider Scar Rocks. I love this show a little more with each new episode.

The more I watch the programme, the more I think Capricians have a screwed up society. Everybody seems to be shagging everybody. One year on a new planet, and they have a union organised, which wants to strike. Like, why? Everybody should be working together to build a new society, not break it apart. And why strip their defence of all their people? It should be maintained at full working strength until their safety is assured. And that market place. How many people were not working? It seemed that a huge amount were just walking aimlessly about, or playing some stupid game.
well they're supposed to be settling on the planet that hte cylons dont know about, hence the stripped defences.
weather's shite down there, and there's unrest in the population. we can understand their unhappiness.
and \o/ for shaggin all around ;)
it was a wow-like-wtf? episode though wasnt it

Its the the whole thing of human Nautre. People are doing there best to eek out an existance. And with the Cylons not being a around anymore the are starting to worry about them less and less cause
it is the way of folks to do that.
Next season has been discribed as Vichey france.
I will agree that folks leaving the ships was silly and if the whole place is like that market place I so Would have stead on the ship and Visted the planet when ever I wanted the feeling of solid Ground or real air.
The Folks I feel most sorry for are Tigh and Chief.
Chief even gets a new Job and manages to keep the title of chief.
Tyrol's union speech is an almost word for word quote of Mario Savio's address during the Free Speech Movement at Berkeley in 1964. According to Ron Moore and David Eick in the podcast, they even got permission from Savio's widow to use it (even though, due to the way copyright laws work from back then, they could have just used it without permission, they felt they should get it).
As a result, it's even listed in the credits: "Mario Savio speech excerpted courtesy of: Lynne Hollander Savio". Actor Aaron Douglas (Chief Tyrol) actually studied film of Savio, so all of the hand gestures Tyrol makes when he gives the speech are gestures that Savio actually used.
And poor old Tigh has only just gotten Planet side and been Invaded. I think the Best WTF moment was when he's hugged By starbuck.

Well, if one were to obtain season 3 episodes in a not so legal manner, not that I'd advocate that sort of thing, then one might try downloading a bitTorrent program (I'd recommend uTorrent but only to download legal torrents) and check out www.torrentscan.com. But you didn't hear it from me *nod, nod, wink*

lost interest in this show a long time ago but still tune in every week to see the first few minutes of the new episodes to see whats going on with the show, well the season finale was on last night and i watched it all to see where they'd go with it. It was lost good episode but what the hell was it about, the jimi hendrix/dyan refernce totally confused me, the people turning out to be cylons. is the new season started in america? if so has any one seen it, and if someone has tell what its all about. please.
