Might be of interest to some people.
About Cork Céilí Mór
On 10th September 2005 over 10,000 people will attempt to break the world record for the largest céilí ever. Eight stages will be set up on Cork's Grand Parade and South Mall in preparation for a day of festivities that will go down in history!
Participants from all walks of life and from all over Ireland and beyond can register online, in person or over the phone (details below). You will then be given or sent a registration card, which can be exchanged on the morning of the céilí for a wristband -colour-coded according to what stage/zone you will be dancing in. Dancers must be in place by 1 o'clock for a simple run-through… and then the world record-breaking attempt will begin, with 10,000 people simultaneously dancing The Siege of Ennis!
The fun doesn't end there, however: top céilí bands, brought to you in association with the Cork Folk Festival, will be playing throughout the afternoon to continue the celebration of Cork spirit!
No experience required just come along and BE A PART OF IT!

Thanks for ruthie for the tip.
