View Full Version : New series of You're a Star
Anyone remember the guy Peter from Popstars the Rivals. I think he left the show cos he was a month too old or something like that (very vague i know). He had an absolutely amazing voice...seriously talented. Well, he auditioned for the new You're a Star and the judges didnt put him through :maad:  So the new series is already looking, eh, interesting and it hasnt even started yet!!!

Oh no, not again! The last two series' of it have produced Eurovision entries that are lovlay in lots of way with lovlay people, but in all fairness, they did shite in the actual Eurovision. Are they serious about thinking this is the way to go about the Eurovision?
Remember people, the Irish people, back when Eurosong was king, chose Millenium of Love *shudders* over Jack L.! Jack F'ing L!
Obviously have NO idea what's going on! And I take my Eurovision VERY seriously!!

O dear.....Not again! Why do we as a country have to go through the farce that is Your a Star that, lets face it will produce a rubbish song and will do rubbish in the Eurovision. Bring back the National Song Contest!!! Its a all a stupid popularity contest. Grrrr

I STILL can't believe someone with a sense of humour hasn't put up My Lovely Horse as a Eurovision song...

ya i know a lot of talented people who auditioned and didnt get through!the judges are looking for presentation this year more than anything but we already knew that!any idea when it starts on tv?

Following the enormous popularity of the previous two series', the show will again take the headline slot on RTÉ every Sunday night for 17 weeks commencing November 2004.

So, it's a ratings thing? Not that I'm dissing that (if it's good, it's good), but there I was thinking it was about trying to win the Eurovision! Ya learn something new everyday!
But we don't want to win Eurovision. That's what the episode with My Lovely Horse was all about in the first place! It's too expensive and does nothing for us. That being said, I wouldn't mind getting a high score. Stupid politcal voting...
Hmmm, think they are slightly changing the format this year...looking for more bands n stuff like that so as to get more of a performance going rather than just a song (if that makes sense). But in the end of it all it is the people who decide who goes through so we could end up not doing well again....or we could do fantastically. I think, and hope, that maybe last years eurovision result was an eye opener to the public and they might take that into account when voting this year. But who knows!!! We will just have to see :) Ooooo...the fun of it all!!!!!!!!!!!
hey! i'm looking forward to this years series!! im not so worried because i dont know anyone in it!!!
My friends who are in a band entered! they didnt get hrough but they are excellent!!! look out for them in the auditions they are "The Flying Fishmonkeys"

raging that ann harrington didnt get voted off-she annoys my head!ya the mccauls r class:) the fella has a deadly voice!
Well, seeing as I accidentally watched it... Which one is Sinead Hand? Is she the girl with the mad hair and the guitar? If Ann Harrington is the one who is over- expressive, she does my head in too.

ya i agree!!whats with ann still being there???what do people see!!my moneys still on pete fagan 2 win-he's got a deadly voice and is very likeable!!only thing that will go against him id say is that he will be labelled as this year's chris doran(despite the fact that he plays guitar and writes his own songs)!!i think he's luuuuuuuuvly:):)
Ah yeah, i think he is great too. I'm all for Pete!!!! I nearly melted when he sang 'Shes always a woman'. But REALLY don't think if we send him to the eurovision we will do any better. We need something real poppy and dancey or something typically irish. But thats just my opinion. Hmmmmm, didn't agree with who was voted out on last Sundays show. Grrrrr!!!!

being eliminated the next. It's not as if they just go off sum1
all of a sudden.i jus don't get it!!!!

I wonder will we get any members of this years competition posting here?

aww disappointed that sinead got voted off!!could imagine her at eurovision-short skirt, dancy song, big stage show-all the thing you seem to need for eurovision!!
however, DELIGHTED that pete topped the poll:)
That idiot Ainé whatever should be shot. How is she still there? I only saw the end of it last night and I wished I hadn't. She butchered Mr. Brightside and she's so fucking false! All this "Oh, i'll open my eyes as wide as I can and sing like I've just inhaled helium" - She may be fooling others, but as far as I'm concerned, she's completely talentless and can't sing for shit.

For anyone who saw Mael Mordha on You're a Star, you can catch the band live in Dublin, March 5th at the Voodoo lounge. We expect to hit Cork again shortly after.

It's amazing how much the Mc Cauls have changed
since the start of the show. They're after coming on loads
and last week they were deadly.I still think Pete Fagan is the best
but I don't think we shud send him to Eurovision.
Who got ditched last night?
Aine O' Doherty. Apparently. I don't know who she is but I heard it on the radio this morning.
for all the news check the official site : http://www.rte.ie/tv/star/
http://www.rte.ie/tv/star/images/big_con1.jpgShe thinks her worst trait is that she thinks before she speaks and has a habit of blabbering on. Her worst habit is that she is forgetful. Her most embarrassing moment was when she was jamming with her coverband "The Surfchicks". On leaving the practice session she walked home with her jacket on upside-down, with the hood hanging down over her bum.pretty wild girl...
About time, she had a really squeaky voice and took a huge breath in after every line! Did my head in.
