I went to the new Harry Potter film last night. Went in HOURS early because the showing I went to wasn't allocated, so I wanted the best seat. So I did. Got right up the back! Was thrilled.

Good opening. Pity about the entire rest of the film. Never before have I seen such shameless fucking around of a storyline. It was complete and utter bollocks. It paid scant attention to timeline (things that happened in march and june happened on supposedly the same DAY in the film), it was just an utter insult.

I've NEVER walked out of a film in my life - I did last night. I was shaking when I came out, I was just furious. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is one of my favoriote books of all time (along with Sphere by Michale Chrichton, The Blue Nowhere by Jeffery Deaver and Reaper Man by Terry Pratchett, I know, I'm deep!), and they made a complete and utter JOKE of it.

I wish I had never been to see it - it was a total waste of time and money, I felt trapped inside in Screen Four in the Gate!!!!!

Although the blue slushee was nice.

I swear, the Barry Trotter books were closer the storyline than this film!!!

hey i thought they did a pretty good job on the film! i mean for the people who never read the books it gave them most of the info they needed. i thought it was definitely better than the first and second film!
and i am an absolutely huge fan of the books!

I read the book so long ago I can't remember exactly how it went but I don't think you should expect them to be identical -- just because something is different to the book doesn't mean it's worse! I think they did a pretty good job anyway...

I've read the book soooooooo many times, but I still felt this was just wrong. They had most of the right parts, but they were all out of order.

I don't expect them to be identical, really. I mean, Jurassic Park was completely out of whack with the book, but it was really good anyway. This film - no way, José!

thats why ya shouldn't go see films of books ya love, it'll never be the same. theres coutless examples, like the shining, the directory in my opinion stopped reading the book half way through and decided to make up his own ending. and lord of the rings book time line goes on for years with loads of detail, in the movie they condensed some parts into a few hours.

i'll really enjoy hp3 cause i haven't read the books, thought the other 2 were great. but if i had read the books it wouldn't be the same i'd say.

Ah im going to see it Friday. Well if you think about it, films do always have bits missing or added in and stuff like that so i think its just a matter of putting up with it!! :) I was gutted when they didnt put in the Deathday party in the second film. I can't wait to see this one though. A few of my friends have seen it n' they said it was good. Is there much of a change in it (what with the new director n all that?) Oh oh...and are the new characters/teachers good??? :)

the new Dumbledore I think was kinda bad, my friend was sitting next to me HATED him, I thought the Lupin was weird, not what I imagined.

Scabbers was barely in it AT ALL. Ron and Hermione never had the fight they had at all, they had one slight argument, that was it.

The Marauders map was wicked though!

ahhhh! god i thought it was class! i'm still really pissed about them not using peeves rik mayall is supposed to be playing him he would be so cool!!! fuzzy it is class i really really enjoyed it and i'mm hard to please when it gets to Harry Potter! the new dumbledore is groovy....sirius is perfect and lupin is almost exactly as i pictured him! but then again everyone has their own vision of how the book should be!

i have to say that as a huge fan of the books i am not pleased with the first two movies. i'm not going to see the third until like the 19th or something. I'm not going rushing to see it because all of the reviews have said that it's not much better than the other two.

Didnt picture Lupin or Sirius like that at all at all, but i definitely warmed to them when actually watching the film! The dementors were really cool i thought :) The new Dumbledore takes a bit of getting used to though...he looks almost the exact same, but i dont think he sounds old enough or something!!! Overall i thought it was very good though :)

not having read the book ...

I thought it was a good film, a wee bit too long perhaps, but there was a good story. They didn't really emphasise why the guy escaped as much as they should have I thought.

yea i found that bit annoyin but i shall tell you how it happened..........Sirius transforms into the dog while in azkaban squeezed through the bars of the jail since the dementors can't sense(they can't see) dogs feelings as much as humans they didn't realise that sirius had escaped. So he swam from azkaban and made his way to the shreiking shack disguised as a dog becuse nobody except lupin knew that black was an animagi!

Cheers angel !
I must say the CGI work was amazing - the Hippogriff was really believable and the Quidditch game in the storm was very cool. Dementors were possibly a bit scary for smaller kids (my friend niamh was a big startled once), but very effective and not over used.

Also, Michael Gambon as Dumbledore looked as if he'd always played the role - there was no adjustment to the new actor at all and Gary Oldman was perfect as Sirius.

Actually Pablo, I was speaking to your friend Niamh (lovely girl, but eats a bit much) and she said that she wasn't scared or startled at all at all and she only held your hand that one time cause she thought you were falling asleep and didn't want to have to explain all the bits you missed when you woke up so she was trying to keep you awake.
At least that's what she said anyways...

i thought it was miles better than the other two films. the cinematography was excellent, and the little bluebird bits were funky!

what bothered me alot was the way his scar kept moving from left to right!

it was farily good to the story TBH, i defo recommend it to anyone who isnt a diehard fan

yea i know the blue eyes thing really pisses me off cuz its supposed to be crucial to the plot in the next two books that harry has his mothers "green" eyes

Well they're probably going to have to change actor anyway for the next one so maybe they can make sure the next fella can wear tinted lenses.

Thank god! Daniel Radcliffe is such a crap actor!

Although he'll definately be in the next one, I read it in a newspaper.

I was let down by the latest Harry potter movie too. I wasn't a fan of Harry Potter untill the movies and I've only read "Order of the Pheonix" but I thought that this was rubbish compared to the other two movies.
