For leaving cert higher english, has anyone made any guesses as to what question will come up in the comparitive study?
Litery genre, Theme or issue or cultural context?? :confused:

What do all those topics mean ? Do you just have one to discuss ?

Back in my day there was the big book of poetry , soundings it was called, it was rather a pain in the arse to be honest.

Do you still have to do an Irish and a foregin poet ? Kavanagh came up in my year (or was it Kinsella ?).

For the comparative texts answer, two headings come up, with two questions each out of Literary Genre, Theme or Issue and Cultural Context. You have to answer one of the questions, I think, out of the 4, although I could be wrong.

No, I'm fairly sure it was Kinsella Ciaran, (cause it was his last year on the course so he was pretty much the only poet we covered)

It’s like it was the last centaury or something. I think the English course doesn’t have much resemblance to when we did it.
