The Last Samurai

An American military advisor embraces the Samurai culture he was hired to destroy after he is captured in battle.

It has Tom Cruise And Billy Connolly in it , lots of sword action and a wee bit of humour. Not for people who don't like the sight of blood spray (why you cut someone with a sword a spray of blood comes from the body in the direction that the sword went) .
Ken Wantanabe is in it too

what are the views on this? was it just me or did the storyline drag terribly in parts.
i thought the imagery was great and japan was portrayed in a great light, ....but just a tad boring>?
i thought there would be way more action, like the final battle.

I liked what I saw anyway, the story was a bit bland with still interesting none the less. the ninja's were cool.

That film kicked ass.I saw it twice.

Battles were excellent.

To be fair,there was the 'Dances With Wolves' element to it,i.e a man ends up fighting for what he was sent to destroy.I've heard people refer to it as 'Dances With Samurai' occasionally.

Ken Watanabe is up for the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor as far as I know.

Its got into my top ten movies of all time.
Very good.

I implore all of humanity to see this movie...yes...even the little ones.

There's a leason to be learned.
