View Full Version : Summer Jobs in France
I'm planning to go to France for 6 weeks or so in the summer, preferably to Nice. At least one other person will be with me, and we want to rent an apartment or something. Now, i've searched high and low and can't get any advice on the net about getting a job over there, or getting afordable accomodation. Before I go pester my teachers, can anyone here give me some advice? I know loads of you have worked in Europe for the summer before, so anything you can tell me is appreciated. Thanks!
well you can get accomodation once you get over there.
Generally the pay in France is poor. But it is good to start looking as earlier as possible.
Do some googling for fruit picking and the likes.
Ask Niamh and Ruthie!!
Emmm , they didn't go in the end :umm:
I'll need to sort out accomodation before I get over, because I'll only be 17, and my parents wouldn't be happy if I was gonna just hope for the best!
I thought about fruit-picking alright, and it's a very nice idea. What about jobs in a café, maybe? Would they be easy to come across?
A link to picking jobs. http://www.pickingjobs.com/Find_a_job/find_a_job.htm
If you get a job in advance, alot of the time they will be able to point you in the direction to get accomodation.

Exactly! They looked for ages and found nothing, so they didn't go.
The picking jobs are looking for over 18's :(

most places would prob not be looking for the hassle of hiring underage foreigners

if your going to work dont go to nice because it way 2 expensive there pluss as pablo said they pay is not good in france so i dontr think it would be worth your while but if you do go to nice and your into art go to the national museum there its not 2bad.
Okay, it's looking like I might do a language course instead, which is in the mornings, and they find accomodation for you, and I might try and get an afternoon job in a cafe or something when I'm over there.
If Nice is too expensive, where else is good, and cheap? I'd like somwhere on the coast.
That way will cost you a wee bit of money, but learning a language is always easier once you are in that country. I suppose it would be like the way the french and spanish students all come over here for the summer for a few weeks. Good luck with it anyways !
