Simply it is the best pub ever that I have been in. Great music, nice people and okay bar staff/bouncers. There is always a good atmosphere in there. It is just the right size for a pub and it is pretty well designed. If I won the lotto I'd try and buy the place .

@ one of my friends 21st they let him get sick in the back , then brought him to the toilets, and let him get sick again and then sat him down again, while the pub emptied. People (i.e. ciarán ;) ) only have problems getting in there when it would be advisable to go to hospital instead.

They also have a chick bouncer there.

ya it a class pub! really like it bit have not been there in ages! i remeber the 1st time i went in there after the knocked it into the hairly lemon. was like cool! that and the quad(same owners) both good pubs

I got kicked out of the place last night ! All over some green hair.

I was talking to this guys girl friend and we had an arm wrestle and stuff. All just messing. Then she wanted to try on my wig (tramps ball night in town). So she grabbed it and ciaran and I try to get it back off her. Her bf who was beside her at the time stood up and started saying all weird stuff. And saying that it was theirs. And why would we want to take some of her costume. He also mentioned that he was a football player, in some feeble attempt to intimidate me. While ciaran was trying to get back the wig from the girl , I had the job of "talk" to the guy. There was a wee bit of pushing, and when I saw a bouncer I called him over and he called another few bouncers (the girlie one). The girlie bouncer did the whole arm lock thing and tried to hold me. But I walked out with her holding onto me. Then another bounce caught me, and about 5 more bouncers were outside. When I asked them to release me they said they wanted to find out if I had assaulted anyone, I mentioned that I was a law student and that I knew my rights, and they were assaulting me. They still held on. That’s when I made an attempt to ring the guards, and I told them. I don't know how I managed to use the phone when I was in the head restraint move.

I think that is how it happened , i had a few pints on me at the time :umm: Ciaran ?

hahaha, oh i love the brog! so that's what was going on. the bouncers are cool, they found my fone one night for me, and you pay for quality, bulmers, E3.90 i think, actually more coz the mutton lane isE3.95. "law student in a headlock" wait till the echo hears this!!!!

They're normally very good! Well Pablo isn't actually a law student but still... that's pretty much how it happened, we were messing around with the wig then they got very serious about it [a green wig, of all things to start a fight over!] The gf was crazy, the guy was nearly as bad - they just kind of marched you out the door [and left the crazy people inside!], would have been fine until you dialed 999, then they wouldn't let you go after that [apparently they don't like people doing that...] although I don't think you actually got through properly... eventually they got bored and just let you go

Brógs ok,the Wolfhound on Barrack St. is better though,IMO.Better music,not too busy (unless there's a gig on) and its near Donatellos for some great post pub food.
