Rembrandt coup for Cork gallery

A CORK art gallery has landed one of the world’s most prestigious exhibitions including work by Rembrandt as part of its celebrations as European city of culture in 2005.
The Crawford Municipal Art Gallery, which has in the past shown works by Picasso and Louis le Brocquy, is the only gallery in the British Isles to have secured the priceless collection of paintings and drawings by Dutch masters.
The exhibition is on loan from the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam’s most famous art museum, which is shutting down for four years for renovation. The museum plans to send much of its collection on tour during the period
