Did anybody hear the 2fm news at 7.00 pm last night? It was really strange, one minute the newsreader was talking about the election, the next he was reading an item on the Pixies. :cool: Apparently they are about to release a compilation of unreleased songs/demos etc that didn't make Surfer Rosa. The newsreader read it dead pan and I was looking at the radio thinking what is that all about!!. Maybe he just snuck it in trying to impress Dave Fanning or something...

Pixies demo tracks due for release
Unreleased tracks from a 1987 Pixies demo will finally be released later this year.


The so-called 'Purple Tape' contained the recordings that originally landed the Pixies their record deal with 4AD.



Eight tracks from the session made it to the 'Come On Pilgrim' EP. The remaining nine tracks, which include the original recording of 'Here Comes Your Man', comprise the new collection.



Simply titled 'Pixies' it will be released on SpinART in July.
