Called "a thrilling songwriter" by The Nashville Rage, 26-year-old Noam Weinstein grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and began playing guitar at the age of eight. During high school he began performing at Boston venues such as Club Passim and The House of Blues, and in the summer of '99 he headed for New York City, where he became involved in the Greenwich Village songwriting community led since the '70s by Jack Hardy.
Noam also began performing regularly around Manhattan, both as a singer-songwriter and as a guitarist accompanying other songwriters. In 2001 he released his first album of originals, entitled Enough About You. In 2002 he followed it up with Above the Music, which features several guest artists including Norah Jones and receives airplay on stations like WFUV in New York and WERS in Boston.
Noam's recent appearances include Austin (South by Southwest), Los Angeles,
San Francisco, Nashville, D.C., Boston, and New York, and he will be embarking on his first international tour in October, to Ireland. In the meantime, he is working on a third album, due out by the end of the year.
