Loads of people are looking at this thread because they too spelt the feckers name wrong. You spell it BLAINE (i know I go it wrong but that is another story).if you like this thread and want to post please please register here (http://www.eirjobs.com/rant/register.php?action=signup)
So his latest stunt involves being enclosed in a glass box 100 feet above the river Thames with no food for 44 days . .all he will have is a tube going into his mouth for water and a pipe going from his nether regions to extract urine . . this guy is quite simply MAD ! !
Surely going 44 days without food will do severe damage will it not ? ?

44 days eh, whens he doing that cause i'm goin to london tomorrow it'd be cool to see him. i saw him in new york when he was trapped in ice which was even more crazier.
and he trains mentally and physically for months or years for these stunts, i doubt he'll do himself serious damage.

usually takes 70 or 80 days to die on hunger strike or whatnot. lack of water will do it in about a week
Well, he'll be severly mal- nourished and weak, and dying when he gets out...
hmmmm can't find any info on the web about this , normally http://news.google.com/ does the trick. Maybe I shouldn't believe everything that gets sent to me in emails.

some one was telling me or i heard it some where(not sure where) that he is giving 1 million dollars to anyone who thinks his stunts are fake and can prove it. but you'd have to have undeniable proof that the stunts were fake.
dunno if that is true or not.
There's people giving 1 million dollars if you can produce solid, hard evidence that God, or psychics and the supernatural exist aswell.
I used to think he was genuine but all that shit is staged.
Sad really.

i dunno the ice one seemed very hard to stage. and this one in a glass coffin hanging from the ground will be impossible to fake, some of the stuff he does seems too impossibe and therefore must be real.
on sky 1 a while back they had a show giving explanations for his tricks, some of them were so stupid, i'm just gona put it all down as real magic.
Anyone know what type of tubes you would need for this ? not that I am going to do it or anything :emb:

remember the H- BLOCKS hunger Strike they went 4 much longer. it took bobby sands 66 days to die on 5th of may 1981.
what he is doing is just stupit as it is only showing he can be a fool.

he's doing it to prove he can, and we are all goin to watch to see if he'll pull it off, or as i am, i'll be watching to see if he fails so i can say haha(nelson style).

The box measures just 2.1m by 2.1m by 0.9m and will be hanging near Tower Bridge in London.
With him inside he'll just have blankets, a mat, a backpack with a diary in, pens, nappies, moist tissues and lip balm.

i was listening to a guy on the radio yesterday who said the lip balm is a cover for food. when they see him at his mouth they'll assume he's putting on lip balm when he could be having a a sneaky munch

yeah something fishy alright.
The tube only lets liquids out... [or apparently that's where it's attached anyway...] - the nappies will smell after a while though I suppose if he's not eating there won't be much coming out either!
apparantly there's a chance he could go blind without food for that long.

maybe he's trying to be like jesus. how long did jesus spend in the desert with out food or water?
i was thinking it might be a big illusion since its all taking place in a glass thing he could be using mirrors or something to make it look like he's there but he's actually not and its all a big trick, like the guy who made the statue of liberty disappear years ago with mirrors and crap.

It was David Copperfield who did the Statue of Liberty trick. He was a much better form of David, he had charisma, humour, and also didn't speak in a monotone!
I think he will have a pipe for water in as well.
All those stunts on TV are easily staged. Anyone remember that program on TG4 with an draoidór dubh or something like that.

i'd say goin 44 days without food would be tough but not life threatening, especially since he's in good health and he's getting water which is more important. maybe he has something in the water but it could only be like a few nutrients or something that wouldn't make a lot of difference.
does anyone know how long a person can go without food before becoming sick or dying?

I don't see why everyone hates him so much. I respect him. He isn't trying to earn respect or rtying to make people like him, all he's trying to do is test his own endurance, and if he can make a bob or two (million) off it, why not? How many of you bought or read the edition of Hello! magazine with Nicky and Georgina's wedding in it? That's twenty times worse!!!
I say kudos to David Blaine for doing something different. People do this kinda shit all the time they just don't end up on telly. Did you know the person to bury himself alive for the longest amount of time was an irishman? and it was a controlled environment.
The one thing I think was silly is that they're trying to claim it's 'solitary confinement'. Going without food, grand. solitary confinement? I watched the first day when they put him in the box and the psychologist said that because his mind would have no stimulation it would make it's onw (ie he would start having hallucinations). But there've been people cheering, booing and throwing things at him since the start. SO that's a bit stoopid.
If I was in London I would cheer him on. I think the people throwing stuff at him and booing him are sad people with nothing else to do. Why would you be bothered going down there to boo someone for ten minutes then go away? I'd cheer him on because I think he needs it at this stage.
Even if he is eating the lip balm secretly.
