Since the sun is shining, and summer is the season of festivals - what would your ideal festival line-up be?
You can have only one stage, one broken-up band (eg nirvana, or manics with richie), and one over all head-liner...
I wouldn't mind the oppertunity to launch my solo career at such a festival. As to who I would get to back me up, maybe I would but U2 because I've never seen them live.
Yeah so me , and my non-existant guitar and U2 would be the line up. :)
Radiohead (playing their old stuff) <- headliners
Semisonic <- just before The headliners
The Kinks <- at some point in the late afternoon
And keeping things goin for the afternoon first:
Lifehouse, Picture House and the Counting Crows
Have a nice day long affair, with loadsa great bands. Will have a second stage set up for next summer and will have resurrected 3 more bands for it too!

ok the first thing at my dream festival would be one portaloo per 10 or 20 people with regular cleaning twice a day, it would have to be held here in cork, dunno where, maybe out here past ballincollig, theres loads of big empty fields towards ovens direction.
now for the all important line up, 3 day line up:
day 1
Nirvana(headliners)
Pearl Jam
Queens of the Stone Age
Tenacious d(for a bit of comedy before the main acts)
Day 2:
Rage Against the Machine
Sound Garden
Audioslave(with Zach doin a few songs since he'll be around)
Radio Head(to start things off slow)
Day 3(the metal day)
Metallica
Slayer
Megadeth
Anthrax
Killswitch engage
plus loads of other bands i can't be arsed thinking of now, but they are the main ones .
when do tickets go on sale for that? :D

I'll demand a percentage of the ticket sales for starting the thread, even though I had no other input!

oh ya thats the other thing there will be free tickets but to get one you do need is answer a few questions to prove you are a music fan and not a scobe going there to get drunk and cause trouble.
example question:
name the best rock album of the last 10 years?
wrong answer: u2's greatest hits not getting in by saying that.
another example of a wrong answer:
name the red hot chili peppers first album?
wrong answer: californication

and have that place destroyed.. .are you mad... another reason i picked the northside of the city county.. no one cares if beer cans "all shams by the way" and other stuff are there.. and also to the fact its VERY close to me old house
Think the next best thing we'll get is someone with a good stereo and big speakers and cd's and everyone sittin in a field somewhere.
who organising the stereo?
i call control of the music!

don't worry belly, smelling is part of the festival experience(i've never smelt you so i can't say weather you smell or not), and after 3 days of the ultimate festival we'd all be smelling the same from the 12 hour days spent in the most pit.
yay!Any chance we could smell NICE though, i got nice vanilla stuff

during witnness last year the closest we got to washing was 2 litres being poured over you, add to this blazing sun and 20 odd degree heat and sleeping in cars and u can just imaginge the smell
