barry white is dead

i just found out barry white died. i was shocked and it happened weeks ago! how come it wasn't all over the news and papers or am i just a bit slow and didn't notice.

he was a fairly famous guy i thought more would have been made of his dying.
i only realised he died when i heard they were making a compilation cd to remember barry white.

i'm not a hugh fan of his i was only suprised to find out he was dead and no one seemed to make anything of it.

i didn't hear about it (i think), but then again reading newspapers in german is a bore.White, who had been in poor health since being hospitalized in August 1999, died while awaiting a kidney transplant. In recent years, he lived in Sherman Oaks, where he built a home studio. Known for his trademark voice and husky, sexy growl, he was a mainstay in the soul music scene for 30 years.

His hits included "You're the First, the Last, My Everything," and "It's Ecstasy When You Lay Down Next to Me."
