that movie was great, it was the raddit that made it so good. drew barrrymore is great, as was the guy from e.r.
the soundtrack for it was cool too.

The song is great. Finally saw the film the other day, it was brilliant, i was half asleep watching it so i had to think about it back again after it. Well worth watching, defo.
Has anybody got the DVD? I was watching it on my boyf's DVD and looking at the special features, the menu for that is well freaky cos it just has frank banging on the glass wall, it's so strange.
And if you watch it on the DVD, before the thing loads up, you hear ferank saying really loudly and wuickly 'WAKE UP'. Frightened the bejeezus outta me!!!

this film is brill, you haven't seen it!!!! go into extra vision and you can buy a old rental copy of it for only 10euro.
the bit at the very end where mad world is playing and the movie starts to make a bit of sense is fantastic, makes the whole thing so worth while.

its really kewl i have the dvd at home. got in for €12 which was sweet. the special fectures are really good and also there are so many things that u might not have got 4m watching it the one time...ie who frank really is! hense the note on the fridge. :p :D

When the real Frank took off the mask in the cinema, I thought it was a woman 'cos he was whispering.
But part of it doesn't make sense - if he jumped through the wormhole to go back to the night that he should have died, where did his other self go? Didn't Frank bring him to the golf-course?

I don't think the frank in the bunny suit was actually time-travelling at all, I think it was just Donnie's visions as to what was going to happen - he was psychic and could see into the future, and that's where all the startling visions came from.
Had me thinking for ages but that's my guess anyhoo. I reckon that they weren't real just visions, 'cos Frank had already been shot in the eye. I think he was more a link to the future than an actual physical manifestation. (that's a big word for a friday morning!)

No but he always appeared when noone was looking at him - I thought up til the end that it was one of those things especially when he was in the cinema and was on bout portals and the like and all the wormholes i thought it was building up to the fact that he was coming through them! like, the little sister (who was somorah in The Ring!!) didn't see him in the bathroom, and Bitchen (ie Gretchen) didn't see him either 'cos she was asleep at the cinema!

Frank is Donnie's sister's boyfriend.
As for the ending, I recon he goes home and tells himself what will happen if he survives the accident in his bedroom. The girl of his dreams, his mother and his younger sister die as a result of him surviving. Either that or he's a paranoid schizophrenic and the whole thing is in his head. I really have to watch it again...:square:
the endings a paradox. if Donnie goes back and lets himself die, then frank never dies, so frank isnt able to come back to warn him. if thats the case then donnie doesnt get out of bed and dies anyway. but the fact that he got out of the bed in the first place, due to frank talking to him, means that if frank was to live, he shouldn't have gone back. the only reason frank was shot by Donnie was that he travelled back in time after he was shot. i know its confusin but there ya go,
Just watched this on tv and man am I confused! I'm definately gonna need to see it a few more times... Twas good though.

yeah its still one of my top 10 movies, maybe top 5, but with Terence Malick makin another film it might get pushed to 6th place
and if anyone saw the directors cut, dont worry its meant to be like that.
for those who didnt, its only more confusing.
oh and as for the whole idea that hes psychic, doesnt hold up. it IS wormholes, otherwise theres no way for the engine to fal on his room. theres no conduit for it if it aint wormholes
as for the story after thinkin about it, its more of a groundhog day situation than a paradox.
he kills frank, frank travels back to warn him, he doesnt die, he kills frank, repeat until he takes other option, he does die, he doesnt kill frank, no one to warn him, people he cares about dont die, cycle is broken.
i think thats why hes laughin at the end. its the sheer absurdity of having to watch his girlfriend and family members die, of having to kill someone; all over and over again, unless he lets himself die, even tho he doesnt want to and he knows how to avoid it. its the ultimate sacrifice; if you were told that by letting yourself die now you could save the lives of the people you care about, would you do it?
still tho, an amazing film and something a little bit more. its got such a cult following now, and i even got my father to watch it.
and as for the end piece with Mad World playing, the first time i showed my friends that some of them started crying. any film that can bring people to that lvl of emotion in 105mins deserves high praise.
amazing film. one of my favourites, of all time, ever.

If anybody has the special edition dvd listen to Richard Kellys and Jake Gyllellellellell...whatevers commentry. They explain the entire story right through and it makes a hell of a lot more sense especially when you read the ?time-travel guide? book thing. Forget what it was called now, the book that roberta sparrow wrote. A few pages are in special features as well
