View Full Version : Considering college in America?
Here is a website with a weblink to every university in the entire USA. I find it really handy.

If anyone knows anything about how I could get a scholarship to an American university, please let me know!

ive got a sports scolarship lined up for me if i want to go to Boston Uni!! big into their camoige over there! :D
first of all you need a sponcer...Family friends living in the states??? the you need to scolar in something.. what you good enough at to get a scolarship? then you need to contact those collages!
it takes longer over there to get a phd as far as i know. i would be very slow on choosing an american university, seeing as the level of entry into university is much lower than we have here in Ireland. I did a test when I was in 2nd year for entry to american colleges , called the SAT test. It was really easy, so thats what I am basing my opinion on.
you would need to do the SAT test as far as i know.
it's really difficult, since american colleges are so expensive. you'll have to do a gre test (see gre.org, i think). your best bet would be to find out over the internet which college excels at whatever area you want to go into. then email the head of the relevant department, or else the overseas admissions. they're very helpful.
but give yourself lots and lots of time, i was thinking of applying for a phd scholarship to berkeley for next october and the deadline was back in novemeber or december (so i missed it, damn).
but still i think it would b so kewl to go to college over there. but it would b a lot of work trying to get there.
