I'm reading a book on the afterlife and all that mumbo. I am a middle of the road chap -verdict is out on god etc but I am open to ideas.
The chapter I'm reading at the mo is all about ouija boards the uses and the dangers of 'em. Pretty mad stuff.
I never tried one (me mammy told me never to). I dunno if I would try one because of all the stories you hear/read.
This methinks is me acting irrationally because if there aint no gord and all that why am I scared of doing one???
Any one done one of these then?

Im afraid of ouija boards. they remind me too much of that freakly game in jumanji. they even sound alike.
That said, Kirk Hammett has a OUIJA guitar thats nifty.

ouija boards go in the same box as horoscopes, palm reading (and oral hygine) and stuff like that. I don't think that there is anything to them. I'd try one no problem , nothing ventured , nothing gained. :o

Being a man of science and using the word man loosely , ;) , there is no scientific background to these things. I'm sure Scully doesn't believe in them. I would do it to check it out. But then again I don't believe in horoscopes . Like how can the day you were born effect what happens to you ? if so 1/12 of the population of the world experiences the same or similar woes as you would.

I know my parents wouldn't ask me to kill myself if they died. They'd want me to go on and live my life to the full, and die when it was actually time. As most parents probably would. And anyone who would kill themselves if a ghost told them to really couldnt' be all there anyway.

Last time i played sarah left teh glass tip over supposidly leaving the spirit lose!!! but nothing happened! My parents would watch over me "ALL THE TIME" and they would haunt me ."silly rents" they love playing practical jokes on me" but they would never ask me to kill myself either!

Anyway, I don't believe in God or the Devil or spirits, so I would mess about wiht one. I wonder if my dismissal of it as working would mean that subconciously i wouldn't move the glass and as such it wouldn't work?

i agree with you and i've a fair idea what goes through cliona's head when she's a bit pissed off so i think what she was trying to say is shes' not disagreeing with you and her point is that why would anyone listen to someone telling them to kill themselves no matter who it is unless they're already a bit out there. don't go telling me about how emotional people get and whatnot cos i've been through that far too often, i've buried 8 members of my immediate family in the last decade or so and i would tell anyone who told me to kill myself to piss off be they spirit, demon or flesh and blood.

The art of Ouija is designed for contacting evil and the board is the medium. ONLY EVIL SPIRITS CAN BE CONTACTED wether you believe in it or not. Ouija boards can not contact good spirits their not designed for that. No good can come out of using a board and no-one should even attempt to make one with a scrabble set. That is unless you know exactly what you're doing (which no-one really does) and you have a sinister purpose for contacting evil forces.
