Just wondering what people think about 'personal space' these days. I was on the train this morning and this woman sat down beside me. She wasn't any taller than me but she was wearing a voluminous poncho type thing, which meant that suddenly I was shoved to the side as she took up most of the room on the seat.
I thought is was rather rude, but she seemed happy enough to lean on my elbow.
Am I the only one who gets a bit squeamish when people sit on you \ lean on you \ push up against you in the bank link queue?
I hate when people are too close. I can't handle it at all. I have to move far far away. It's really something I hate. Even when someone holds their hand over my head, it drives me insane.

It's a thing im wierd about.. My freinds laugh when i say "GET OUT OF MY BUBBLE"
I love my personal space! its prob the only thing that BELONGS to me and sometimes it doesnt.. ye feel that way?
Strangers near me that freaks me out!

people always seem to give me plenty of space. usually the last seats in a carriage on the train are those at my table. i can't be that scary can i?

T hat reminds me of the bus seat rule, a chemistry lecturer that i once had used this as an analogy (sp?) ... fill each seat individually first .. proper order - even nature follows it
Bus! I hate the bus! esp when packed!! the last four seats on the back of the bus! eh old lady my legs need a seat to reat on to! :p

i also hate the bus, the worst place for personal space being invaded especially by old people and smelly drunks who seem to think you want them to talk to you.
also the reverse is true when on the bus and the seat next to you is empty and the bus is full and still people prefer to stand than sit next to you(like the evil belly said). that makes toy paranoid.
i think the main thing is that different people have different ideas on what their personal space is , for some people its big , but they other people just won't let you use the their toothbrush :confused:

I hate that perios when you gotta sit down next to someone on the bus but then you debate whether or not to move ifthe person next to you doesn't when the bus almost empties (on the no 7 bus, this is known as the 'Douglas Effect'). Maybe it's cos I'm dead indecisive.

when i really have to take public transport, i pretty much always prefer to stand if there's only one or two seats left. hate sitting nrxt to strangers. funny though, winos and maniacs always talk to me and cry and tell me their life stories- i must have the kind of face that they like or something! nice one like.

for the most scary invasion of space try driving at 60ish and have another car come round a corner well over on your side of the road leaving mere millimetres between you, them and the ditch. must admit to being the guilty party in this a few times but it's freaky none the less
when said invasion is done when you're one two wheel tis worse, bloddy car drivers-think ye own the road!

we do own the road. we pay more raod tax and there are more of us therefore we pay for more of the road hence we own more of it :p

I once spend 2 hours crushed up against a window going from LA to San Diego, by this huge guy. He wasn't over weight he was two people. And poor me could feel his jumbo thighs againts me the whole way.
One type of person I can't stand on busses is smelly ones, ones that stink of BO and you can't get away from them when they are on the bus.
