Deafening Silence-Machinehead
Kiss From A Rose-Seal
Nutshell(Unplugged)-Alice In Chains
I Stay Away-Alice In Chains
With Or Without You-U2
The Ground Beneath Her Feet-U2

Notice the order of the next ones
Air - Playground Love
The Cure - Love Song
The Smiths - I know its over
Those are just to do with a time period,

Songs that i really like just because they sound beautiful would be

Air - All I Need
Sonic Youth - Superstar
Sonic Youth - Sunday
Joy Division - Love will tear us apart
New Order - Cermony
Semisonic - Down in Flames
Mansun - Negitive

and finally The Smashing Pumpkins - Aeroplane Flies High...... Disarm, Mellon Collie...... Blank Page

After listing those i think i will put them all on to a C.D, Mind you it won't be a happy C.D but to balance the world i shall also create a new Beastie Boys and Prodigy Compilation C.D :D

I forgot a few more songs that mean much to me,
Rival Schools - Undercovers On

to me, the most beautiful songs are the ones that make you feel sad, the heart-breaking ones! so mine at the moment are
'girl from the north country' either the bob or the johnny cash version.
'if you see her say hello' - bob dylan
'hey, that's no way to say goodbye' - leonard cohen
'lime tree arbour', 'into my arms', and 'nobody's baby now' - nick cave
and finally, faith no more's cover of 'this guy's in love with you'.
oh, and 'pink cigarette' by mr. bungle.

Actually none of them are manufactured, they're genuinely playing music out of their own motivation. But what they are and what they THINK they are are two VERY different things.

I like Linkin Park a LOT, but The Darkness and Evanescence are really, really annoying. Especially the Darkness. I mean, could they not even get a good looking member, for christs sake, they're ALL so unnattractive!!! Especially Justin, he's disgusting.

u shouldnt like a band just 4 the surperficial view of their appearance, kindof silly really. u should like a group 4 their musical talents not how attractive r unattractive they r. sure i dont think metallica r goodlooking (they are old men!) so i guess beauty is in the eyes of the b holder.

i like the darkness' music i think its class doesnt mean i wanna run off wit one of them... ive grown out of the stupid pop culture were 'boy bands' are full of cute guys to get screaming teeny girls to buy the cds (even if the music is crap)

It really is a cool song, thats crappy bout the other ones but you could always combine the ones that stop in the middle to create a new super song capable of destroying the world with its deadly pitches and harmonies, a song so addictive, so infectious that it digs its way into your very soul and and and.....................what was i talkin bout again?

Great minds indeed.

I love this song!!!

They might be giants - another first kiss

I'm asleep but she's talking to me
She's walking round wearing all of my clothes
But we decided long ago
We'd build a time machine and go

How bout another first kiss, kiss, kiss, yeah
I want another first kiss

Other women were too sentimental
Always worrying about their hair
Got tired of wasting all my time
Now I'm not worrying at all

How bout another first kiss, kiss, kiss, yeah
I want another first kiss, kiss, kiss, yeah
I want another first kiss

The clock bends
Shes waiting

I could tell you we belong together
I could tell you you belong with me
But we've run out of things to say
And we'll be happy anyway

So....

How bout another first kiss, kiss, kiss, yeah
I want another first kiss, kiss, kiss, yeah
I want another first kiss

dunno who it's by
tis the one about joseph plunkett marrying grace gifford inthe chapel at kilmainham the morning before they take him out to shoot him

last verse here
Now as the dawn is breaking, my heart is breaking too
On this May morn as I walk out, my thoughts will be of you
And I'll write some words upon the wall so everyone will know
I loved so much that I could see his blood upon the rose.

Oh, Grace just hold me in your arms and let this moment linger
They'll take me out at dawn and I will die
With all my love I'll place this wedding ring upon your finger
There won't be time to share our love for we must say goodbye

Well....I don't know if others would consider this song "beautiful" and I certainly wouldn't call it haunting..but its probably the most descriptive of my thoughts and it also reminds me of my favorite place that I've ever been.
Its called "I Don't Mind" by Peter Bingen...and since I know that no one here would have ever heard of it, much less heard it..here's the words...I apologize, because none of you will really get the feeling that I do from it...

I am looking I am searching I have found
near the ground my soul myself beneath this trail.
There's no other place I'd rather be can't you see
me out here walkin' in the rain and hail.

Purpose of life seems to me
is not to take yourself too seriously
I wouldn't want to be an old man sittin' in an office
building someplace far away, with worry on my face.

Well you can take my car my stereo my little money.
Leave me with nothing but my trail family.
Take my dress up clothes my cheap colonge
my college loans I don't mind, I don't mind.

Well if that tax man comes looking I'm at 10,000 feet
cookin' up some oatmeal or some rice and beans.

I worship the spirit who doesn't just look down
he looks up and through and all around,
find him in the rocks and trees.

Cause there's no reason to pray
when you wake up every day to the sunrise over Cito Peak.

So find some ground lace up your boots start
walkin' and you will find reason enough, reason to believe.

Well you can drop your worries at the parking lot or way down
in the city where the sun burns hot.
Although civilization is a nice place to visit,
I wouldn't want to live there.

Oh just one final paragraph of advise don't burn yourselves
out. Be as I am. It's not enough to fight for the land.
It's even more important to enjoy it while you can,
while it's still here.

So get out there and hunt and fish
and mess around. Ramble out yonder explore the woods,
encounter the grizz, climb the mountains, bag the peaks,
run the rivers, breath deep that yet sweet lucid air.

Sit quiet for awhile contemplate the precious stillness that
mystery and awesome space enjoy yourself.
Keep your brain in your head and your head attached to your body.
Body active and alive.

And I promise you this much.
I promise you this one sweet victory, over our enemies.
Over those desk bound people with their hearts in a box
and their eyes hypnotized by calculators.
I promise you this one sweet victory...

YOU'LL OUTLIVE THE BASTARDS!

bob dylan-changing of the guards

s'nice lyrics. not THAT keen on the song but...

Sixteen years,
Sixteen banners united over the field
Where the good shepherd grieves.
Desperate men, desperate women divided,
Spreading their wings 'neath the falling leaves.

Fortune calls.
I stepped forth from the shadows, to the marketplace,
Merchants and thieves, hungry for power, my last deal gone down.
She's smelling sweet like the meadows where she was born,
On midsummer's eve, near the tower.

The cold-blooded moon.
The captain waits above the celebration
Sending his thoughts to a beloved maid
Whose ebony face is beyond communication.
The captain is down but still believing that his love will be repaid.

They shaved her head.
She was torn between Jupiter and Apollo.
A messenger arrived with a black nightingale.
I seen her on the stairs and I couldn't help but follow,
Follow her down past the fountain where they lifted her veil.

I stumbled to my feet.
I rode past destruction in the ditches
With the stitches still mending 'neath a heart-shaped tattoo.
Renegade priests and treacherous young witches
Were handing out the flowers that I'd given to you.

The palace of mirrors
Where dog soldiers are reflected,
The endless road and the wailing of chimes,
The empty rooms where her memory is protected,
Where the angels' voices whisper to the souls of previous times.

She wakes him up
Forty-eight hours later, the sun is breaking
Near broken chains, mountain laurel and rolling rocks.
She's begging to know what measures he now will be taking.
He's pulling her down and she's clutching on to his long golden locks.

Gentlemen, he said,
I don't need your organization, I've shined your shoes,
I've moved your mountains and marked your cards
But Eden is burning, either brace yourself for elimination
Or else your hearts must have the courage for the changing of the guards.

Peace will come
With tranquility and splendor on the wheels of fire
But will bring us no reward when her false idols fall
And cruel death surrenders with its pale ghost retreating
Between the King and the Queen of Swords.

an unusual one this,

Escape From Hellview - CKY
(lyrics)
the fire writhes on its own,
leaving us to ourselves but not exactly alone,
i think that something is out there waiting,
anticipation is grown

the night is dark as can be,
cant even see that my hand is in front of me,
i hear them whisper "they wont escape,
until the blood is set free"

So turn back, the silence is deafening,
turn back, dont let them see you again
they make their rounds at the midnight hour and,
12 o'clock is just a minute away,
and we're off!
hours awake and our only mistake is we breathe!
as they hunger for the living they will kill us with the greratest of ease,
no experience can ever match the sight of when a person lives through,
if its the last thing i will do i'll be the one who will escape from hellview.

and now im finding my friends,
hanging from trees like a pitiful barbwire fence,
im carry on with my neck in the noose but hey,
i enjoy the intense

So turn back, the silence is deafening,
turn back, dont let them see you again
they make their rounds at the midnight hour and,
12 o'clock is just a minute away,
and we're off!

hours awake and our only mistake is we breathe!
as they hunger for the living they will kill us with the greratest of ease,
no experience can ever match the sight of when a person lives through,
if its the last thing i will do i'll be the one who will escape from hellview.

So turn back, the silence is deafening,
turn back, dont let them see you again
they make their rounds at the midnight hour and,
12 o'clock is just a minute away,

step back, the silence is deafening,
turn back, dont let them see you again
they make their rounds at the midnight hour and,
12 o'clock is just a minute away,
and we're off!

hours awake and our only mistake is we breathe!
as they hunger for the living they will kill us with the greratest of ease,
no experience can ever match the sight of when a person lives through,
if its the last thing i will do i'll be the one who will escape from hellview.

Neverland - Marillion

When the darkness takes me over
Face down, emptier than zero
Invisible you come to me
..quietly
Stay beside me
Whisper to me "Here I am"
And the loneliness fades

Some people think I'm somethin'
Well you gave me that, I know
But I always feel like nothing
When I'm in the dark alone

You provide the soul, the spark that drives me on
Makes me something more than flesh and bone

At times like these
Any fool can see
Any fool can see
Your love inside me

All these years
Truth In front of my eyes
While I denied
What my heart knows was right

At times like these
Any fool can see
Any fool can see
Your love inside me

I want to be someone
I want to be someone
I want to be someone
Who someone would want to be
Someone would want to be

Wendy
Darling
In the kitchen
With your dreams

Will you fly
again
Take to the sky
again

Undo the hooks
Once and for all
Banish the tic tic tic tok tok tok
Again

Will you be
Yourself for me
Cause I can take it
I can stand
Anything

When you're with me
I can stand it
I can stand

But when you're gone
I never land
In Neverland

Want to be someone someone would want to be
someone someone would want to be
someone someone would want to be
someone someone someone someone

Any fool
Any fool can see
Any fool can see
Your love
Inside me

doesn't remind me - audioslave

I walk the streets of Japan till I get lost
Cause it doesn't remind me of anything
With a graveyard tan carrying a cross
Cause it doesn't remind me of anything
I like studying faces in a parking lot
Cause it doesn't remind me of anything
I like driving backwards in the fog
Cause it doesn't remind me of anything

[Chorus]
The things that I've loved the things that I've lost
The things I've held sacred that I've dropped
I won't lie no more you can bet
I don't want to learn what I'll need to forget

I like gypsy moths and radio talk
Cause it doesn't remind me of anything
I like gospel music and canned applause
Cause it doesn't remind me of anything
I like colorful clothing in the sun
Cause it doesn't remind me of anything
I ilke hammering nails and speaking in tongues
Cause it doesn't remind me of anything

[Chorus]
The things that I've loved the things that I've lost
The things I've held sacred that I've dropped
I won't lie no more you can bet
I don't want to learn what I'll need to forget

Bend and shape me
I love the way you are
Slow and sweetly
Like never before
Calm and sleeping
We won't stir up the past
So descretely
We won't look back

[Chorus]
The things that I've loved the things that I've lost
The things I've held sacred that I've dropped
I won't lie no more you can bet
I don't want to learn what I'll need to forget

I like throwing my voice and breaking guitars
Cause it doesn't remind me of anything
I like playing in the sand what's mine is ours
If it doesn't remind me of anything
