Thunderbirds to return to the silver screen

Bill Paxton is in negotiations to star in a live-action film version of the 1960s cult British television show Thunderbirds.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be directed by Jonathan Frakes for Working Title Films and Universal Pictures.
Shooting begins in March on location in the Seychelles with studio work at the UK’s Pinewood Studios.
Written by William Osbourne, the project is about a 12-year-old boy who must rescue his father (Paxton) and four brothers from imminent death as well as saving the world from the hands of evil Aristotle Spode.
He has a little help though from Lady Penelope (played by Sophia Myles).
Paxton’s character is a billionaire former astronaut who is the patriarch of the family and leads the Thunderbirds during their missions to save the world.
The actor, who next stars in Club Dread, has appeared in various films including Frailty, Twister, Titanic and A Simple Plan.
