American Head Charge's album The War Of Art is definetely worth getting if you like good heavy stuff --- they're kinda like Slipknot mixed with Faith No More.

Get it second hand if you can though... it's bloody expensive in the Virgin and HMV shops.

if you like an album you must buy it, even if you have a burnt copy, it's the rules, coz otherwise aspiring bands will not have enough money to continue and will become failed musicians

This is why I never loan albums out to people. I'll burn em for people, and tell them to buy the album if they like it, but I will NEVER loan out an album to anyone. I foolishly lent my Skunk Anansie Post Orgasmic Chill album to my sister.... heven't seen hide nor hair of it since.

Hey nailbombed,

do you like the Last Supper more that Nadir? I got it when it came out purely cos it's got those hyper-beats that make Cryptopsy so good...but Nadir I reckon is way cooler. Production's not as sloppy either. I have "And then you'll beg" and "Whisper" but since Lord Worm left (he always sounded like he was growling backwards) and they became almost too complicated to listen to, I dunno the first two are the best. Especially "Born Headless" on "Blasphemy...".That's probably my all-time favourite death metal chooon. You?

What've you got on

I loved "Reawakening..." but then i saw them live in limerick and wasn't very impressed at all. The support bands were far better than them and they were headlining the whole tour.

To be honest the whole Celtic things been done and done better i think i.e. Mael Mordha, Cruachan.

It's a gimic and personally i don't think they've enough substance to warrant the size of the fanbase they have. The riffs don't stand on their own and many are just old irish songs played on guitar with distortion!

They're not a bad band by any means but i think they're a bit overrated

Gotta get more Mael Mórdha .... only have The Path To Insanity. Can't find anyone who has their second demo.

Argh.

This town of Cork truly is 'a settlement of fools'. Noone else I know outside of my usual circle of friends know Mael Mordha... if you ask the average teen-metal phreak on Paul St. who they are, they respond with blank stares... that pisses me off, they should be a tad more openminded. But then again, most of the kids on P.S. listen to Papa Roach.

U'd think they would have a love for more local bands than anything,i mean here i am in Wales, and this place is well into the locals,FFAF,lost prophets came from bout 5mins down the road.
Aparently very nice fellas.
Cork plp should support local before outside groups, christ look after ur own first!

"you ask the average teen-metal phreak on Paul St. who they are, they respond with blank stares..."

Well there's a couple of problems there...

1. In my opinion 90 per cent of the Pual Rats are gits that wouldn't be able to spot a metal band at the Wacken festival

2. There just isn't enough underage gigs to educate these people. In my day there was An Pheonix and some of the bands there really opened my eyes, and let me see there was life beyond metallica or megadeth. Its what kept me interested in metal. Luckily there's a few good bands starting to play these underage things i.e. Dog on Stilts, [R]evolution... and ourselves(cough cough), so please god that'll sort em out once and for all.

"celtic thing has been done???? done well before any of the bands mentioned, way back in the days of the horslips it was being done!!!"

Indeed it was but i'm talking in a metal capacity. I'm no horseslips fan so when i said "done better" it was done better in my opinion as a metal fan. There is no point coparing Horseslips with Waylander unless by influences. Its like saying who's better Deicide or Dire Straits? They're too different to compare. (personnaly i recon its Dire Straits:)

"bought profit off conor and ian at deviation
i was at the bar and talking about me own band

"o i have a gibson sg""

That was colin i'd say. And he gave up the drink and worked solid for a year to earn that thing. Ya gotta give him credit. Whatdya think of "Profit" anyway? Kinda dodgy mix in places but we're happy

Strangely enough, my listening has turned towards The Streets. Original Pirate Material is bloody great... this is not my usual listening, being as I am a total and utter metal-head - I can't stand garage music at all, but this is shit-hot stuff, more like a cross between beat-poet stuf and rap, and it's at times calming, chilling, depressing, clever, funny as fuck, smartarsed and uplifting. Well worth getting a hold of.
