personally i think its a great thing , at least it will make it safer on the roads and in the end it might even bring innsurance prices down .

there is plenty of stories going around on how to dodge the system ... i don't think they would be that stupid . i do know that its not fully in place yet mind you.

did you hear they are clamping down on people with just provisional drivers licenses , and you'll have to carry your license every time you travel (i don't think this applies to bicycles or busses). well anyway the story was in the news today , if any of ye read the news ye'd know.

They are menat to be changing the license to a credit card size.(I carry the big one to use as an id and I have to shove it in with the notes in my wallet and fold it damn big thing)Supposdly you only get 3 trys to get the test and if you fail you can never drive.It gonna fill up the test centers again.
Who has a full license on this site and who has the langer plates?

Update on my last post.
It seems that you get three prov license and that you have to pass the test within this time.If you fail to you have to get special training before you can again.
Still this thing of making it illegal for prov drivers to drive on their own....It already is but the Guards don't have time to check on it so the only time you get caught is if you get caught with somthing else at the same time.

it's all bollocks anyway. there's no substitute for road experience. one thing we do need is more advanced driver training on things like how to handle the car in extreme weather or pull it out of a spin. had to put my hundreds of hours and thousands of miles of pointless scutting in car parks at night to use yesterday when i lost the back end of the car on some ice going round a corner. well spent hours on the ice last christmas came into play there and no damage done
